Exfoliation is an essential component of any anti-ageing skincare regime in order to promote cell renewal to reveal more healthy youthful skin. Professional exfoliation, or micro-dermabrasion treatments literally use a mini-sand blasting technique to remove the outmost layer of the skin. And skin peels use a very high concentration of a chemical exfoliant which literally cause the outer layer of skin to peel off exposing the healthy skin underneath. But there is an easier, less abrasive and inexpensive way to exfoliate and that’s by using common old aspirin.

Aspirin contains salicylic acid, which is a beta hydroxy acid which can chemically exfoliate, clean pores help keep skin blemish-free.

All you need to do is crush 7 aspirin with a pestle and mortar or using the back of a spoon. Make sure that they’re not the dissolvable type.

Add just a teaspoon of water to make a paste and spread over skin and neck, being careful to avoid the eyes. Leave on for 10 minutes then wash off with plenty of water and a gentle, non-lathering soap or facewash. You’ll be left with a rosy glow and very soft skin. Do not use more than once a week.
